INDEPENDENT SALES TEAM

 

Background

DIY Accounting design Accounting Software and Payroll Software on excel spreadsheets for small businesses. Having launched the first package on 16 June 2006 the range is now extensive covering all small businesses with up to 15 employees with the product range being further extended to include many specialist businesses. Having initially launched the products on the website www.diyaccounting.co.uk in August 2006 sales have exceeded expectations with tens of thousands of visitors each month and a client list of several thousand that is growing rapidly.

The packaging has been designed. The retail products are ready.

16 June 2007 sees the retail launch of the products on CD-Rom.

DIY Accounting is now recruiting a national sales force to introduce the products to retailers throughout the UK.

 

The Market

Nationally the potential market for the products is up to 2.5 million unit sales per annum covering everyone who is self employed in any capacity, all small companies and anyone employing 1 to 20 employees.

Your task is to put the product on retail shelves so together we can reach out to this vast market through trade accounts.

Potential trade accounts for the DIY Accounting products include many diverse enterprises from Sub Post Offices (currently 14,000 in the UK), office supply companies, computer suppliers, stationery retailers, taxi firms (hundreds of thousands of potential clients), trade associations, small business groups and wholesalers of all descriptions (every trade customer of every wholesaler in the land is a potential client).

Initially Sales people will be recruited to provisionally cover a specific Yellow Pages area, each having over 1,000 potential trade accounts.

 

Qualifications

Previous sales experience is obviously an advantage but not a prerequisite.

Accounting knowledge is not required being designed for clients without accounting knowledge, a major reason they sell so well with high levels of repeat business since all the products are specific to a single year and updated each year.

Educationally, good administration skills will be helpful. Chat ability highly desirable.

Essential qualities are enthusiasm, persistence and determination to actively grasp the opportunities available, the ability and energy to cast the net wide throughout the dedicated sales area and the ability to close sales and make it happen.

 

Support

Appointed representatives receive a colour display book to present and use as a sales aid to show potential trade accounts plus trade price lists, trade application forms and order forms. Application and additional order forms are supplied on a CD as part of the pack so you never need to run out of documentation.

Sample products can also be supplied.

Full administrative back-up and deliveries made to all trade customers within seven days.

Trade customers also receive with their first order the same colour display book to assist promoting the products to the retail customer.

The single most influential support item? New customers can place an initial order on a no obligation 60 day Sale or Return basis. New accounts can be opened by giving the product away!

New Customers complete a very simple Trade Application form and within 7 days the full range will be on the shelves with a colour display book to sell the products for him.

 

Commission

Members of sales team will be provisionally allocated a specific but not exclusive one of the 102 Yellow Pages directory areas..

Within that area a highly attractive commission rate of 50% of the wholesale order value will be paid, payable when payment is received from the trade customer.

As numbers build areas will dedicated to a specific individuals based upon the best sales performances.

When an area has been exclusively dedicated and the market begins to mature the dedicated representative will also receive 10% commission on repeat business on the accounts he has opened in that area.

All trade accounts will be allocated a unique 8 digit account number that identifies the representative (2 digits), area (3 digits) and customer (3 digits)

 

What are the potential earnings? The answer – directly proportional to your ability and commitment.

Assuming a 10% market penetration in year one: - 100 accounts opened on Sale or Return basis, each re-ordering 20 products per month.

 

50% commission on the new Sale or Return accounts is worth:

100 accounts x £156.58 order value x 50% commission = £7,829

 

10% commission on repeat business will be worth:

100 accounts x 20 products x 12 months x £8 average price x 10% commission = £19,200

 

Open 4 new accounts per week and potential earnings exceed £50k p.a.

 

Working Conditions and Expenses

Each representative appointed will be self employed and responsible for his own expenses and work schedule.

Representatives would normally start on a part time basis and build the commitment towards full time self employment as income levels grow.

As the business develops further opportunities for regional and full time positions will become available.

Payment will be by cheque on the 15th of each month following.
